VDC MANAGER - Version 3.4

The VDC MANAGER course series gives you the opportunity to learn the software step by step – from the basics through to the key features and powerful use cases such as 4D/5D BIM project management and quality assurance.

Some advanced topics, such as model versions and script functions, will be introduced at a later stage.

To successfully complete all quizzes and gain a solid understanding of the tool, we strongly recommend working with our sample project throughout the training. You can find the download link for the sample project in the VDC MANAGER - Getting Started course.

    By completing this course, you will find out whether your device and its environment meet the program requirements. You will also learn how to install the software, activate your license and configure the application. Finally, you will receive a brief introduction to the user interface and become familiar with some basic functions of the 3D viewer.     • Lesson VDC MANAGER - Getting started

  • In this course, you will learn the definitions of key terms related to VDC MANAGER, such as domain , model and container . In addition, selected domains will be explained in more detail. You will also learn how to edit the properties of individual domains – one of the most frequently performed tasks in VDC MANAGER. This course uses interactive elements, which includes audio which can be muted by clicking on the speaker symbol. Duration:   50 - 55 minutes (reading time) Language:  English

  • In this course, you will learn about the basic concept of rule-based linking and how to apply it within a domain. You will also be introduced to the Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and Activities domains. In addition, you will learn a special method for generating activities using process components. Finally, you will discover how to visualise activities through animations (4D simulation) and charts.   • In this course, you will explore the professional features of VDC MANAGER: the Clash Detection and Model Checking domains. These are widely used for quality assurance in construction and infrastructure projects, particularly during the design and construction phases. For each domain, you will learn about the core functions, how to configure them, how to interpret the results, and how to reuse and print the output.
